Bluesotel Hotel – 5 Places You Must Visit in Krabi

Krabi has a lot to offer. The province is known for its amazing beaches, fresh seafood, and wonderful culture. If you’re looking for the perfect summer getaway destination, we can say with confidence that Krabi should be on the top of everybody’s list. You can find an endless supply of exciting activities like open water kayaking, scuba diving, kiteboarding, and other extreme sports that every adrenaline junkie will love. If that doesn’t sound like something you’d enjoy, don’t worry. This seaside town is teeming with relaxing activities like Thai massages on the beach and long walks along with the tracks and trails that litter the entire province.

If you want to make the most out of your trip to Krabi, here are five places that you have to visit:

1. THUNG TEAO FOREST NATURAL PARK

If you’re looking for a day of adventure in a lush forest, the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park is the place to go. The entirety of the park is a well-preserved rainforest with a natural lagoon in the middle where you can take a dip in after a long and tiring hike. If you’re lucky, you may get to see some wild animals like deer and buffalos crossing the trail, but make sure to observe them from a safe distance and don’t try to feed or pet them.

2. MAYA BAY

Maya Bay is the jewel of Krabi, and one of the most popular locations in Thailand. The bay is a part of the world-renowned Phi Phi islands; an archipelago located off the western shore of Thailand. The very first thing you see once you land on the beach is the fine, white sand and crystal clear water. The traditional southern long-tailed boats with the colorful ribbons floating atop of the water also create an extraordinary look that you can’t find anywhere else in the world. The Maya Bay is also home to the “DiCaprio Beach,” where the production of the movie “The Beach” took place. The beach has become incredibly popular among tourists since then. Maya Bay is currently closed for rehabilitation but is expected to be reopened sometime in the future.

3. KHAO KHANAB NAM

Khao Khanab Nam means “water enclosed by mountains,” and that describes the scene quite perfectly. As you sail down the Pak Nam Krabi River, you will be greeted with two mountains that encompass the river, making this boat ride an iconic one. There’s also a cave with amazing rock formation with a guide who will take you through all the crevices and point out all the notable formations in the caves. There are also skeletal remains of prehistoric animals found in the cave, so if you’re interested in learning more about the archeological findings, the Khao Khanab Nam Cave is the place to go.

4. KLONG THOM HOT SPRINGS

Krabi also has an abundance of natural hot springs, but the most famous one has to be the one in Klong Thom. The water here is rich in minerals that promote healthy skin, and the temperature here is perfect. Bathing in hot springs can help to relieve joint pain and promote healthy circulation, making it a perfect location for the elderly to sit back, relax, and let Mother Nature do her thing.

5. SUSAN HOI

This would be a scary place… if you’re a clam. Susan Hoi translates to “Shell Cemetery” in English, and the description fits the place quite well. Millions of years ago, the area used to be underwater, and the lifeless remains of prehistoric clams sank to the bottom of the sea and got mixed up with the sand down in the seabed. The movement of the rock formation under the sea compressed the sand and created a layer of sandstone with empty shells inside of them. The phenomenon created an unique-looking scene that can’t be found anywhere else on earth.
