If you’re going to Krabi, Thailand, whether you’re traveling solo or with a group, you will want to plan out the things you want to see and activities that you want to do while you’re there. In order to successfully do this, you need to check out what there is to see and which activities sound like something you’d like to do. Here are our recommendations:
If you’re the adventurous type, we highly recommend checking out the Ngorn Nak Trail. This trail is 4 km long and will get your heart pumping, your face sweating, and your body moving. There are tons of inclines that aren’t for the faint of heart. Not only is Thailand already hot by default, but it’s also humid, meaning that you will be soaked in sweat before you even hike half of the trail. As tough as the hike may be, it’s well worth it once you get to see the view at the top.
This trail has a beautiful viewpoint that is sure to take your breath away. Another great viewpoint to check out is the Railay Viewpoint. You will have to climb up some steep slopes with ropes to pull yourself up with, but you will be rewarded with a great panorama view of Railey. Of course, the way up will be challenging, but nothing worth having comes easily, right?
A popular way to go island-hopping is with a tour or cruise, but you do have the option to go by yourself with a long tail boat. This is the option you will want if you’re hoping to indulge in the beauty of Thailand’s islands at your own speed. Tours will be a little cheaper since multiple people will be going with you, but if you’re not feeling like a group tour, a long tail boat will allow you to pick the islands you want to see as well as how long you want to stay there. This will give you more independence with your tour. However, you will have to pay a little bit more. It’s worth it if you’re not willing to follow a schedule. You can rent a long tail boat on a daily price basis.
In Thung Teao Natural Park, there’s a natural wonder called the Emerald Pools, named after it’s gleaming, beautiful natural color. It’s a nice and serene swim. Since it’s also in a nature park, there are tons of beautiful things to see here. No matter what you do go see in the park, don’t miss the Emerald Pools – they’re a must!
Krabi has a beautiful mangrove forest that you can kayak out to. It’s about 20 km from town and has some great scenery if you’re up for it. There are many caves and hidden lagoons to explore, which can be really romantic if you’re visiting with a loved one.
If you are a history fan or have a fascination with ancient cultures, there is a cave in Than Bok that has cave paintings which are around 3,000 years old. You will feel the history in these caves, which is great for history geeks. You can plan a half or full day trip to explore these caves and caverns. You can also rent a longtail boat or kayak by yourself.
